I know that choosing to come for counselling can seem daunting, particularly when you may already be feeling uncertain, alone or afraid, I also understand that feeling comfortable with your counsellor is vitally important and by working in partnership with you, offering support and understanding we can explore together what is troubling you or holding you back in your life.
I have experience working with many clients from all walks of life and of all ages, I offer a compassionate space where you can feel safe and understood and where you can gain new strength and hope for the future
Respecting your individual needs our sessions will offer you a confidential, non-judgmental and creative space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings in relation to your difficulties. I will not make decisions for you or impose my opinions on you. My role is not to provide answers and quick fixes, but to work with you to develop a greater understanding of aspects of yourself, your life and your relationships which you may not have been able to consider before, or which you may not have been aware of. This can be a way of gaining clarity and enabling change as well as relieving distress.
Our first session is used to explore the possibility of our working together. We can discuss your expectations and goals, any anxieties, and I welcome any other questions you may have. I will also explain my policy on confidentiality, fees, cancellations and appointment times.
